I thought more than once about that stock and viewed it daily one of a kind for sure but due too it's highly red in appearance and not Being Left handed I decided to pass, not to say I didn't have to sit on my hands as to not pull the trigger!!. They sure appeared much more red on his site.
What a difference in contrast between those stocks when pictured on Jim's web site and now in your post. Sorry, a bit confused but would like to see what the current stocks for sale look like. And, as an added bonus, it had been clearly been tuned by somebody who knew what they were doing and shot beautifully! I didn't want to be too greedy! Although that was a gorgeous stock and very tempting! Do you have any pics of the most recent Maccari stock purchase or is it one in the above pics? Which would you pick? I'll add my JM stock to the mix: Got lucky on this one about a year ago. Love those beautifil mineral lines! Factory original or Custom? The one on the right is belongs to Mike Obrien. The one on the left is Scotts in an older style JM srock. One is a factory original next to a JM Custom. Some are of an older design next to his latest. These rifles are VERY sought after and rare in this condition. This rifle has the rarer 'wrap round' front sight element. I would like a valuation for the gun on it's own and another for the complete set up with scope and a quality one piece mount. Fitted on the gun at the moment is a Gamo 4 - 12 x 44AOE shock resistant scope which I found to be the best for 30 yards target shooting at a 10mm bull. A new safety catch shouldn't be hard to find though to get the gun back to a collectors item. This in no way affects the workings of the gun but it affects the cosmetic appearance if you look close enough. This resulted in the 2 little 'Wings' on the safety catch breaking off as the gun was disassembled for transit. Now the bad bit Either Royal Mail or the Spanish Correos thought fit to drop the parcel on it's end during transit when I first bought the rifle. I actually bought a Weirauch HW98 competition target rifle to see if I could better my scores, but sold it when I realised the FWB was a better and more accurate rifle!! I have entered many local competitions for springers using this gun and won most of them. When I came to cock and fire it, I noticed a squeaking sound coming from the piston seal so, I removed the still brand new spring and changed everything for a Macarri Old School kit which is in the gun now, I still have the original spring. It has the original front and rear sights which I removed due to mounting a scope for competition work, it is also fitted with sling swivels. As you can imagine, I paid a premium price for a gun that could have only been described as brand new. It is I think a Mk 1 model, number The condition I can only describe as immaculate.
